Weighting Your Gradebook in PTP

Learning Goal: to be able to successfully weight your grades in PowerTeacher Pro

 

Objectives:

  • To learn how to set up the A1 Category

  • To learn how to set up the E1 Category

  • To learn how to set up the S1 Category

Purpose: To develop understanding on how to set up category weighting and develop an understanding of how course grading impacts student achievement

Assessment: Flipgrid video that describes your grading weights and shows that your grade book is weighted

Set up your PTP grade book. Use the video and the directions below to guide you.

​Steps  for Weighting you S1 Term Category:
​
  1. In your "Traditional Grade Calculations",  Select the edit pencil for the S1 Category.
  2. Under "Type" select "Term Weighting"
  3. Under Attribute select "A1"
  4. Under "Weigh" type "0.9"
  5. Click the "+" button and a new row will appear.
  6. Under "Type" select "Term Weighting"
  7. Under Attribute select "E1"
  8. Under "Weigh" type "0.1"
  9. Click Save.
​Steps  for Weighting you A1 Term Category:
​
  1. In your "Traditional Grade Calculations",  Select the edit pencil for the A1 Category.
  2. Under "Type" select "Category Weighting"
  3. Under Attribute select a category
  4. Under "Weigh" type the percent you would like it be weighted.
  5. Click the "+" button and a new row will appear.
  6. Repeat setps 2-5 for each categroy you use.
  7. Click Save.
